Hello to a New Adventure!

Happy Monday, crafty friends! My family and I are going to be off on another adventure as we move back to Southern California! The Bay Area has been really fun and living closer to family has been really wonderful. But a new adventure awaits back in SoCal. I thought it would be appropriate to create a "just moved" card and the You Are Here set from Taylored Expressions was just what I needed!

TE just released these darling dies called Transportation. When I first got them, I intended them for scrapbooking, but they are pretty perfect for cards, too!

I used the new Pockets & Pages Circle Showcase die to create this nifty frame to highlight the part of the U.S. in which we live. Even though I grew up in SoCal, I've come to really like the Bay Area, too, so thought I can't quite say I will be leaving my heart in San Francisco, I thought one about halfway between the two would be appropriate!

I was having so much fun creating that I decided to create a fun and simple CAS card using mostly dies. It's Summer and I can't wait to bask in the sunshine down in SoCal!

I used the new Pockets & Pages Fab Frames Summer to create a fun frame and then stamped "summer" with the new Little Bits of Summer from Taylored Expressions.

The sweet little sandcastle is also a "Little Bits" -- a die and I glittered it up and used a marker to color in the flags.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your day is wonderful and filled with Happy Beans.

Taylored Expressions Release Day: YUM!

It's Release Day at Taylored Expressions! I got the chance to play along with my buddies over at TE for this fun release, which was all about summertime fun. For my project, I used the newly released Pockets & Pages Fab Frames - Summer and some really darling new dies in a new collection called 'Little Bits' to create a fun and happy summertime card.

By pairing the Fab Frame with the previously released Pockets & Pages 3x4 Essentials die, I was able to cut out this cool frame. I just love it and know I'll be doing this for scrapbooking by placing a photo behind the frame! I used the new Little Bits Ice Cream Cone to create the yummy cone -- doesn't it just scream 'summer?!' These sweet little dies are so adorable and are affordable, too -- each set costs just $5 or $6 so I'm pretty sure I am going to want them all!

I hope you enjoyed by little card today. Be sure to check out the rest of the designers who are showing off their awesome projects today. New products are now available in the TE Store!

Love This!

One of my very favorite gifts to give to family are framed photos, especially to grandparents and, in this case, my little guy's great-grandmother! She's in her nineties and can't easily join us for holidays and so we try to go out an visit her as often as we can. She absolutely adores her only great-grandson and so we knew she'd love a cute framed photo of him.

We had a very plain wood frame that I painted blue. To spruce it up further, I added a ribbon, button and twine. Then, to really make it special, I added some stamped images from the new Journal Tabs - Day and Journal Tabs - Month from Taylored Expressions. I thought it really personalized the frame and made it one of a kind.

In just a few steps, I had a sweet gift for a sweet lady!

Taylored Expressions Release Day: I Only Have Eye for YOU!

It's Release Day at Taylored Expressions! I am so excited today because I got to grab a few moments over the last week to play with some new release products and I'm featuring the new Sack It - Monster dies! For my project, I decided to make a pair of "his" and "her" cards.

I die-cut all the pieces I would need for the cute monsters using card stock and patterned paper. I decided to leave the horns off my "boy" monster and give him just one sweet tooth. I love how happy he looks! For both cards, I used a sentiment from Love Monsters that I thought was pretty perfect and put it inside a Say What? Conversation Bubble. Isn't he darling?

Using some red card stock and a white paint pen, I created a fun bow tie using the Mini Mix & Match Bows.

Next up is the little "girl" monster. For her, I left the horns on, specifically so that I could give her a couple of cute bows using the Mini Mix & Match Bows, which are sized just right for her to have a couple of "pig-tails."

She got two teeth!

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Be sure to visit the Baker's Dozen blogs today for some serious eye candy. All new products are now available in the TE Store!

    Mother's Day with Spectrum Noir

It's the first of May and spring is definitely in the air! Mother's Day is next weekend and, until I had my own little one, I don't think I truly appreciated what it was like to be a Mom and all the love and care my mom gave me. My other "mom," my mom-in-law, Susan, is another amazing mother and I wanted to share a gift set that I created for her for this special day honoring all those moms out there.

Spectrum Noir was kind and generous enough to send me a full set of their awesome Spectrum Noir alcohol based markers. The colors are beautiful and the dual-sided markers made coloring my stamped images a lot of fun. I used them on the Taylored Expressions set, Sunshiny Day, to create this cute little scene.

I thought it would be cute to create a little gift sack to go along with my card and I used TE's Sack It To You and Sack-It Owl dies. I made the owl match the one on my card by using similar colors and inking in some happy eyes and feathers.

Thank you again, Spectrum Noir, for sending me such cool markers for me to play with in my craft room. Happy almost Mother's Day!
