Let's Play Peek-a-Boo

Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a fun week this week. I certainly am! I got to create a couple of baby cards and play along with the team at Taylored Expressions for their newest release of Clearly Planned photopolymer stamps and coordinating dies. FUN!

This is definitely a year of babies. I know tons of moms-to-be, so this was the perfect excuse to create some baby cuteness. I used TE's new Hinged Insta-frames die set for this fun peek-a-book card. I created two matching ones. The first for a girl and the second that was more gender neutral.

I stamped using the Sneak a Peek stamp set and the newly released Cheery Banners to add a festive accent. I also added some sweet Enamel Shapes. Love those!

The Hinged Insta-Frames are my new favorite thing to add a little interactive surprise. I stamped "Welcome Baby" from the Hippo Birdy set and now I have two cards for two new little ones!

To Infinity and Beyond!

Hey, hey, crafty friends! I can't wait to share a super fun card I created for Release Day with Taylored Expressions! All things "space" are trendy right now, and I love love love this darling stamp set called Space Cadet with all its little outer space critters!

I wanted to try out coloring with pencils on dark cardstock. I've seen this technique done around the internet and I thought it would be fun...and it was! I used watercolor pencils as they seemed easier to blend on the dark cardstock. I started by embossing with some white pearl embossing power, which stood out beautifully and helped me keep the details of the stamped images. The cool background is the new Twinkle Twinkle Background, which I stamped and embossed with platinum embossing powder for a nice shine.

I wanted to make a spinner card and discovered that I could use the 'hoop' portion of the Embroidery Hoop die, which also gave me a built-in stopper. I decided on the cute puppy to orbit my embossed sentiment. My son absolutely loved this card and enjoyed playing with the spinner.

I added a Pinhole Star Stacklet star die-cut from Metallic cardstock. This card was a blast to create and I can't wait to make more cards that are outta this world!

Butterflies & Blooms!

Happy April, crafty friends! Today I get to share two pretty projects that I created for the April Release at Taylored Expressions. I'm excited to share them with you because they were so fun to create. The first project is this elegant card I made using the new Simply Stamped - Butterflies.

I tried out the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink on Oreo card stock and I thought the results were very nice -- inking on dark card stock is a challenge and these were fun to use. I added sparkle and shimmer with some Wink of Stella and Wink of Luna pens before die-cutting the butterflies out with the handy dies that coordinate.

I carefully outlined using the pens. The shimmer is really lovely.

I used the Ornate Frame Cutting Plate to frame up my card. I don't usually make black cards, so this was a little outside the comfort zone for me. I added some color by sponging more distress ink using one of the included frames in the Cutting Plate as a mask on vellum. I love how it looks on the Heavyweight Vellum!

Next is a Mother's Day card I made with the new Block Party Mom die. It's a cool die because you can move it anywhere you want on your card. Here, I also used the new Quatrefoil Embossing Folder to add some pretty texture.

I used some TE Wool Felt in new heather colors, which I thought was brought out by the Earl Gray strips of card stock I added to the top and bottom of the "Mom". These were cut out using the new Mini Bloomers 2 die set. I topped each off with an Enamel Shape in Sugar Cube. Super sweet!

And for the inside, I used the new sentiment set, Simply Said Mom. It was the perfect, simple way to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today!  Be sure to visit the TE Blog today for more projects from their amazing design team!

Home is Where the Heart Is...

Happy Thursday! I'm so excited because today is Release Day at Taylored Expressions and I am so in love with all the new products released this month. I actually have three projects to share today (one was created by my little rugrat!) and so let's get right to it!

My first project features the new Sitting Pretty die set. It's such a great idea that was inspired by Taylor's art wall in her house. This card is for my husband, who travels and lot. I always try to include a little note when he goes away to remind him of all the love that is waiting for him at home.
I die-cut out four of the darling frames included in the set from more muted colors. I used the Mini Caps Alpha and #s die set to spell out three of the four letters in "HOME". For the "O," I printed out a tiny pic of my husband with our little guy and placed it inside the frame.

For my background, I used the new Subway Tiles Embossing Folder -- it's such a clean, crisp design, which I love. I added the included shelf to represent a mantle and added a sweet little Enamel Shape heart along with the rest of my sentiment.

For my send project, I used the new Matchbox die set. It is so much fun! You can fill the little box with just about anything and makes such a sweet gift or greeting for someone. I wanted to create a little Easter shadow box for my little guy's Easter basket. I was inspired by the idea of those darling viewing eggs to create this fun little scene.

The little Matchbook is just the right size for a sweet little scene and I love how it came with extra frame dies. I simply left the scalloped rectangle frame in place and die-cut it to create the little window. A few well-placed Nuvo drops were easy embellishments!

I used the bunny from one of my favorite Clearly Planned sets and created this scene with the fun Matchy Backgrounds stamp set -- love those clouds! The hill is a Stitched Circle Stacklet and the Wispy Grass Border was just perfect for my bunny. The "eggs" in the grass are Enamel Shapes!

My last project to share was actually made by my little guy! (He's the one pictured with my husband in the card.) He wanted to make a little car for a hand-drawn character he created and when he saw me working with the Matchbox die, he asked if he could make it into a car!

It was a really fun project to create together. He had a great time and so did I.
Hope you will drop by the TE Blog for eye candy from their awesome Creative team of designers! Thanks for stopping by!
